Convent and Basilica of Congregados, Braga, Portugal
The Convent and Basilica started being built in the 17th century, in the baroque and rococo styles. The congregation was expelled from the building in 1834 when the religious orders were extinct in Portugal. The building became a Public Library, with books brought from the extinct religious orders and, later, a school. It's currently used by the University of Minho.
Opening hours: The Basilica is opened from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Keep in mind that this is a functioning church so avoid taking pictures, making noise or dressing inappropriately.
