Széchenyi Bridge (Chain Bridge), Budapest, Hungary

The Chain Bridge was the first permanent crossing between Buda and Pest. It was designed by English engineer William Tierney Clark and opened in 1849. It is named after István Széchenyi, a politician and a writer, and a major supporter of the bridge's construction.
The bridge was blown up during WWII, with only the towers remaining. It was rebuilt after the war and reopened in 1949.
