Fontana della Barcaccia, Rome, Italy

The Fontana della Barcaccia is one of the many Baroque fountains in Rome, part of the Papal project to have a fountain in every major piazza in Rome. It is located in Piazza di Spagna.
The fountain was commissioned by Pope Urban VIII to Bernini, who took inspiration from a boat that had been deposited on the piazza by a flood, many years before. The fountain was concluded in 1629.
