Sport Lisboa e Benfica Stadium, Lisbon, Portugal

Benfica (Sport Lisboa e Benfica) was founded in 1904. Due to the lack of financial resources, it started by using public grounds for its matches; however, these grounds became unsuitable for playing football and for the following decades the club would resort to renting other club's fields for its home matches.
In 1954, as a result of efforts and donations from its many supporters, the club inaugurated its own stadium, where the current stadium still stands, the Sport Lisboa e Benfica Stadium, also popularly known as "Stadium of Light" or "Cathedral". The "Stadium of light" refers to Our Lady of Light, a church nearby.
The current stadium was inaugurated in 2003, to become one of the venues of the 2004 UEFA European Championship. It has a capacity of 64,642 seats.
