Fisherman's Bastion, Budapest, Hungary

The Fisherman's Bastion turrets offer the most picturesque panoramic views of Pest. The bastion was built in neo-gothic and neo-romanesque styles between 1895 and 1902. The seven towers represent the seven Magyar tribes that founded the country in 895. Between the Bastion and Matthias Church, there's a bronze statue of Stephen I of Hungary (Saint Stephen), mounted on a horse. The name of the bastion comes from the fact that it was built at the site of an old rampart that, in the middle ages, was defended by the guild of fishermen living nearby.
